Kristin provides strategic leadership for the enrollment functions of the university, including the offices of admissions, financial aid, student success & retention, and community college relations. Her work in student success & retention includes oversight of orientation and transition programs for new students, as well as campus-wide early intervention, retention, and student success initiatives.

Katie collaborates with campus partners on several student success initiatives, including peer mentoring, the early intervention survey for first-year students, and the early readmission program. She also provides individual support to at-risk students and assists with other programs with the department.

Joellen Hatchett

Orientation Coordinator

Joellen is responsible for the planning and implementation of the University's new student orientation and transition programs. Each year, she is tasked with hiring and training the summer orientation staff who lead incoming students through each orientation session. She also coordinates UNI Now!, the extended orientation program for all new students, and Family Weekend.

Sam supports early identification of students at-risk of leaving the institution by reviewing student responses to the Connection Survey.  Sam is also available to schedule one-on-one meetings with students in need of support and provide appropriate referrals to campus partners. In addition Sam works to synthesize student data through qualitative and quantitative analysis to help inform best practices for campus partners.
