Mission:


The Department of Student Success and Retention promotes student degree completion by taking down barriers to persistence and creating experiences that support students in discovering community, meaning, and purpose.

Kristin provides oversight for retention and student success initiatives in the Division of Student Affairs, including orientation and transition programs, early intervention and support for students at risk of leaving the university, and collaborative co-curricular initiatives with partners in the Division of Academic Affairs. She co-leads the Retention and Completion Council and the Transfer Council, working with faculty and staff to continually improve the experience of all UNI students as they progress toward degree completion.

Bailey is responsible for all aspects of the University's incoming student orientation programs. She also coordinates UNI Now, the extended orientation program for all incoming students, and Jump Start, an orientation program for underrepresented students at UNI.

Jade collaborates with campus partners on several student success initiatives, including peer mentoring, the early intervention survey for first-year students, and the Summer Start program. She also provides individual support to at-risk students and assists with other programs with the department.

As the graduate assistant for Orientation and Transition Programs, Lindsey assists with the planning and implementation of transfer welcome programming and Family Weekend. She also assists with the programming, recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of the student staff members for all orientation programming.Lindsey also provides support for other administrative processes in the office of the Vice President of Student Affairs.

As the graduate assistant for Student Success, Morgan assists in the recruitment, selection, and training of the peer mentors for first-year only classes. She assists with administration of the new student early-alert survey and provides one-on-one support to first-year students. Morgan also provides support for other administrative processes in the office of the Vice President of Student Affairs.
