First Year Student and Guest Agendas

Tentative First Year Agendas 

 

First year students are required to attend the full two-day program (see the agenda below).  This includes a full day (into the evening) on day one, and a half-day (ending around 2:00pm) on day two. You will receive a detailed agenda with session locations and descriptions at check-in.
 

Students and parents/guests will attend check-in and the opening session and then divide out into separate programming for the afternoon. Parents/guests will meet back up for an optional campus tour at 6:00pm.
 


Please note that this is a tentative agenda and sessions are subject to change as Summer 2020 gets closer. 
 

Day One

8:00-9:45am: Check-In, Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center (GBPAC) Lobby -- parking available in the B lot to the southeast of the GBPAC

9:45-10:30am: Opening Session: Becoming a Panther, GBPAC Great Hall

10:30-11:15am: Student Involvement Fair, Rod Library

11:15-12:45pm: Lunch Rotations, Maucker Union

1:00-1:45pm: Learning Partnerships Session with Faculty, Schindler Education Center

1:45-3:45pm: Academic Program Planning, Schindler Education Center

3:45-5:25pm: Resource Rotations, Schindler Education Center

5:30-6:00pm: College Transitions, Schindler Education Center

6:00-6:30pm: Optional Campus Tours

6:30-7:30pm: Purple and Gold Dinner, Maucker Union Ballrooms

8:00-11:00am: PANTHERPALOOZA, Wellness Recreation Center

Day Two

7:45am-1:00pm: Morning Rotations -- arrive at Rod Library at the time listed on your advising packet provided during academic advising on day one and you will then be escorted through the following sessions:

  • Technology and MyUniverse, Rod Library
  • One-on-one academic advising appointments, Maucker Union Ballrooms
  • Registration for fall semester classes, Maucker Union Ballrooms
  • Student ID pictures, Lower Level Maucker Union

9:00am-1:00pm: Health, Finances, & More 

  • Financial Aid Consultations
  • Residence Hall Tours
  • Book Store Tours
  • Health Services & more

9:00am-1:00pm: Mandatory Health Form Drop-Off, Lower Level Maucker Union

11:15am-12:00pm: TEACH Grant Information Session (optional)
